10 Weeks Program

Course Objective:
The objective of this course is to introduce the student to the Java Programming topics and doing hands on practical assignments using Eclipse IDE tool for development.
Attention will be paid to the following topics:
1.Fundametals of Java
2.Object Oriented Concepts – OOPS
3.Arrays and Strings
4.Exception Handling and Multi threading
5.Event Handling
6.Java Input and Output
7.Utility Classes
8.Web Development using JSP, Servlets, Tomcat
and MySQL Database
9.Open Source Web development framework Struts
The above represents the key elements of the successful Java developer’s skill set. They come from the academic disciplines of Computer Information Science, experience and practice.
I. Responsibilities
The class will be very interactive and will require that each of us prepare to add to the discussions. The goal here is, we as professionals, coming from many backgrounds, share our experiences to enrich the academic environment. There will be expectations that discussions and debates should be lively, however, maintained in a professional manner. There will be also be an expectation that the views and opinions expressed within the academic environment have a degree of confidentiality and should be shared with absolute discretion.
